The Best Way to Function

Professional Industry Experience:
I have over 30 successful years in the food service industry and over 15 successful years in hospitality and business training,
sharing my own knowledge is a natural progression for me, as my first job came
from a basic love of food and evolved into a career full of diverse, challenging and rewarding
experiences.
I spent 16 years working for a multi-national food ingredient company, starting out as an
assistant home economist and ending up as Public Relations Manager.
I then set up my own catering business from home, catering for cocktail parties, product launches,
fashion parades, weddings and cruises. I also worked weekends as a supervisor/cook at a girls'
boarding school, where my cooking proved extremely popular.
So Why purchase from A La Carte Training?
because we are a reputable online business that is
CONSISTENTLY dedicated to the satisfaction of our
customers.
I then decided to run a restaurant where I sharpened my management skills. I recall the time 36
American journalists stopped in for lunch and I was so nervous knowing that my restaurant might be
mentioned in a number of American magazines.
Over the years, I have also worked for a five-star hotel resort to broaden my knowledge of the
hospitality industry.
When I was managing my own restaurant and catering businesses I did everything myself, from the
cooking to the bookkeeping to the marketing, I learned how to do the lot through hands-on
experience, but wished I had been trained beforehand. When I started out in the business, there
was no formal training in this sector and I made lots of mistakes. I just floated along.
With 30 successful years in the food service industry now behind me, I am now offering people the
kind of solutions to problems I never had with a series of online study guides on restaurant and
catering management.
Training Experience:
Over the years I have taught at many business and hospitality colleges at Diploma and
Certificate IV levels, but most recently I have been lecturing at University and operating
my own hospitality management training business, as well as offering cooking classes for
people who have an interest in fine food and wine.
Qualifications:
After attending college and cookery schools in Australia, I eventually went to London to
attend the Cordon Bleu and Prue Leith Cookery Schools and also trained with some international
chefs.
I have completed a Bachelor of Business in Restaurant & Catering Management and a
Bachelor of Hotel Management. I also have a Diploma of Hospitality,
Diploma of Business, a Certificate IV in Small Business Management and
other relevant business and hospitality qualifications.
I continue with on-going training to keep up with changes and trends in the market place
and to ensure
continuance of a quality product.
